New web application "verfügbare Feldarbeitstage - Mähdrusch (available field days – combine harvesting)"

press release of KTBL:

How many days are available for combine harvesting? How can soil protection be taken into account when planning field working days?

The free web application ' verfügbare Feldarbeitstage – Mähdrusch‘ helps in the assessment.

The available days are derived by comparing the susceptibility of soils to compaction - depending on soil texture and soil moisture - with the mechanical stress caused by the machine.

In addition, phenological data is used to determine the harvestability of the crops in the form of available harvesting hours.

The method originates from the BonaRes project SoilAssist and was implemented in cooperation with the KTBL and the DWD.
