Soil functions in the socio-economic context

In BonaRes we integrate knowledge of soil function management in the socio-economic research of foresight analysis, impact assessment and governance analysis based on the DPSIR framework. The framework was developed for the assessment of relations between human activities and the environment (Gabrielson and Bosch, 2003). Its causal relationship of human-nature interactions helps to structure complex human-soil systems in five analytical stages in a sequence from driver (foresight), pressure (soil management), state (soil functions) to impact (assessment) and response (governance).
