Within the BonaRes framework, multiple projects work on different specific challenges related to agricultural soil management. Within this work, governance innovations are developed that are supposed to help improve German and EU soil governance. These innovations address various dimensions of the soil governance system (Figure below): its objectives and goals (target adequacy), the drivers of degradation (object adequacy), the specific instruments and instrument mixes (instrument adequacy) as well as insights into the behaviour of relevant actors (behavioural adequacy).
Below, you can access brief discussions of governance innovations developed within BonaRes as well as critical discussions of existing innovative governance options from the BonaRes perspective. A general discussion of agricultural soils as a governance challenge can be found in Soil as governance challenge.
